I want toPenang will rekindle its renowned food haven status by hosting the Fabulous Food 1Malaysia Fest beginning this month. The festival will see three sections -- Malaysian International Gourmet Festival, Street Food Carnival and Asean Heritage Food Trail.
State Tourism Malaysia director Jaime Yeoh said George Town would live up to its prestigious billing as a Unesco World Heritage Site with the organisation of the "Viva La George Town" Asean Heritage Food Trail on Dec 11. "It is fitting for George Town to host the event to reflect its status as the multiculturalism melting pot from the Middle East and the Asean region. The event is held for the first time outside the Klang Valley." The event, organised by Disted College, would be staged at Gat Lebuh China in the heart of the heritage enclave here from 7pm to midnight. The event will see 45 food stalls serving a wide range of authentic Malaysian and Asean food to some estimated 2,000 visitors.
